Faith isn’t just believing when it makes sense — it’s obeying even when it doesn’t.
In James 2:14–26, Pastor Joel reminded us that there’s more than one kind of faith. There’s dead faith that only touches the mind, demonic faith that stirs the emotions, and then there’s dynamic faith — the kind that moves the will into obedience.

Dynamic faith doesn’t stop at understanding or feeling; it acts. It’s the faith that Abraham showed when he left everything familiar, not knowing where he was going, and trusted God completely. It’s the faith that Rahab displayed when she risked her life to protect the Israelite spies because she believed in the God who saves.

Both Abraham and Rahab remind us that God doesn’t just look at where we’ve been — He sees what we can become when we trust Him. From the father of nations to the prostitute of Jericho, His grace levels the ground. Faith that saves always shows.

As Pastor Joel said, “Dynamic faith isn’t believing in spite of evidence — it’s obeying in spite of it.” When God calls, the proof of our belief is found in our obedience.

So what step is God asking you to take today? It may not make sense, it may cost you something — but if He’s called you to it, He’s already gone before you.

Lord,
Teach me to trust You when I can’t see the outcome.
When my faith feels small, remind me that obedience is my offering.
Give me the courage of Abraham to go where You lead,
and the faith of Rahab to act when fear would rather freeze me.
Shape my heart into one that believes — and obeys.
Make my faith alive in You today.
Amen.
