How do we move from surviving to thriving? How do we step into 2026 with confidence? The answer lies in a simple principle found in Luke 21:1-4: Trading for Something Greater.
Jesus watched the rich putting large gifts into the offering box, but He highlighted a poor widow who put in two small copper coins. He said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them”.
Why? Because while others gave out of their abundance, she gave “all she had to live on”.
God Measures Surrender, Not Size In the Kingdom of Heaven, math works differently. God measures surrender, not size. The widow didn’t give leftovers; she gave her security. She traded her “tomorrow” for trust in God.
To see greater things in 2026—to see families restored, addictions broken, and our community changed—we must be willing to trade our comfort for God’s calling. We must stop asking “how much do I have to give?” and start asking “am I surrendering all that I am?”.
2025 was a year of miraculous provision. 2026 is the year we plant our feet firmly and grow deeply. Let’s trade our fear, our resources, and our reputation for a faith that moves the heart of God.
Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness that has carried me through the storms of this past year. As I look ahead, I confess that I often hold back out of fear or a need for security. Today, I want to have the heart of the widow. I don’t want to just give You my leftovers; I want to give You my life. I surrender my time, my resources, and my future into Your hands. Help me to trade my comfort for Your greater purpose, trusting that when I give You everything, I gain more than I could ever imagine. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Our mission is that No ONE Walks Alone. As you consider what you are “trading” this year, share this post with a friend or family member and invite them to join you on this journey of deeper faith in 2026.
